Enrico & Angelina Cinquini |
Enrico Cinquini was
born July 20th 1869 in the town of Viareggio near Lucca, Tuscany,
Italy. As a young man Enrico was in the Merchant Marines. Ellis
Island records show that Enrico visited the United States in 1889 (when he
was 20 years old, possible while he was in the Merchant Marines). The
Ellis Island records also show that he sailed once again to the United
States by way of New
York City aboard the S.S. Taormina which had departed from Genoa, Italy in
August of 1911.
We think that It was in New York City where Enrico met and married Angelina Straguzzi (who had come to the United States from Palermo, Sicily). Enrico and Angelina moved to an area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania better known as "South Philly." Enrico died at the age of 84 on April 28th 1954 and was buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery (Yeadon, Pennsylvania) on May 1st 1954. |
